About Isa
(She / They)
My name is Isa (pronounced ee-sa) and I am a licensed acupuncturist. My wife and I moved to Middlebury in 2024, and since being here, we have loved connecting to the land and spirit of this beautiful town. It is a very special place, and I feel grateful to call it home.
My acupuncture practice, Little Forest Acupuncture, is inspired by the woods in and around Middlebury, where I often go to feel the soil beneath my feet and listen to the wind in the trees. It doesn’t take long to find myself in the deep quiet of the forest, and to remember what really matters to me. Aside from helping you to feel healthier and stronger in your body, my goal in these acupuncture sessions is to provide you with a similar reprieve from the chaos of the world—an experience that helps you to connect more deeply to yourself, and through which you feel restored to your authenticity and essence.
I have been an acupuncturist since 2008, when I completed a four-year Master’s program in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California. I was originally drawn to acupuncture as a means to help the people I loved, and this passion has extended to supporting my greater community. Before moving to Vermont, I worked in Northern California at UC Davis Health, seeing patients in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, the Integrative Medicine Clinic, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. In the hospital system, I worked to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern Medicine systems and modalities through education, collaboration, and innovative approaches to patient care.

I specialize in treating chronic and acute pain, migraines and headaches, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, stress and anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, insomnia and nightmares, cancer treatment side effects, and women’s health, especially irregular and painful periods.
I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive healing environment, and have a body-positive, non-judgmental approach to health and healing. As a member of the queer community, I also especially enjoy working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Outside of the acupuncture clinic, my other passion is writing, and I am a published author. I believe in the power of stories to inspire, heal, and transform the human psyche on the most fundamental of levels. My first book, If the Darkness Had Wings, is a supernatural adult romance that explores what it means to live an authentic life. It is available at The Vermont Book Shop in downtown Middlebury! My wife and I also co-wrote a heartwarming young adult fantasy called Where the Moon Keeps Her Heart, which is scheduled for release in November 2025.
Lastly (and certainly not least), please meet my very sweet and friendly dog, Snowflake! He loves meeting new people and dogs, and has even had acupuncture himself! He is my research partner, forest companion, and cuddle buddy.
